This weeks Old Time Ham Shack Of The Week takes us back to the late 1950's when amplitude modulation was still the phone mode of choice for most amateurs.  This was especially true for many of the operators in Western New York, one of the last strong holds of AM operation here in the USA.

K2LGJ was one of those hams from Buffalo, NY,  who was very much involved with home brewing and experimenting, and was a very familiar voice heard on the ham bands here in the Northeast.

In our photo, K2LGJ is seen sitting in front of his HQ-129 receiver on the right, and what looks to be a home brew transmitter and vfo on the left.  Notice an item in the photo that is not seen or used in many ham shacks today, on the table... is a log book.
