Once again these operators just don't get it. It would seem from the conversations that have been monitored, that they want to box themselves into a corner, only this time at a different part of the phone band. Why is it that these operators can't understand that they can operate on any frequency that their class of license allows? How many times do you have to talk about this until it sinks in with these guys? Then they wonder why the ssb stations complain if they hear an AM station operating outside of their self imposed boundary. You worked hard to achieve the class of license you hold, so why not use all of the frequencies that have been allocated to you.
Less than a year ago the Bookend Home Office published an article on this website called Oil Your VFO which is worth reading again. We have decided to reprint it because we feel it is even more relevant today. (see main page)
Also, an article regarding this same subject was recently written by K2VH and published on another website, we include it here for you to read.

If you are really serious about AM, then it's time to stand up and be counted and not crawl into a corner waiting for someone to eliminate you. Take advantage of all the frequencies that are given to you.
Remember, you have the same privileges that have been given to a ssb station. Don't acquiesce because you operate AM!
